RGB lighting software cause this error, such as Corsair iCue, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, EVGA lighting, Asus Aura.
Let's take the Asus Aura as an example.
- Open the Task Manager
- Go to the Details tab
- Find the LightingService.exe and Right-click on it.
- Click on the End task
- Then click on the "End process" button.
Now, you can launch Apex Legends. If you still get errors, this is due to another software running, probably.

- Press the Windows logo key and R key simultaneously on your keyboard.
- Type regedit
- Press the Enter key.
- The Registry Editor will open. In the left panel, Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
- Right-click on the Image File Execution Options
- Go to New > Key
- Rename the new folder as r5apex.exe
- Right-click on the r5apex.exe
- Go to New > Key
- Rename the folder as PerfOptions
- Now, right-click on the PerfOptions
- Go to New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
- Rename it as CpuPriorityClass
- Double-click on the CpuPriorityClass
- Set the "Value data:" to 3
- Click on the OK button.
- Finally, exit the Registry Editor and launch the game.
