The Elder Scrolls Online - Stuck at Requesting Login / Loading Screen

Some The Elder Scrolls Online players report that the game gets stuck at the "Requesting Login" screen (loading screen) and cannot find a solution. In this guide, you will find pieces of information about the issues related to logging in to ESO and how to fix it.

Game Server Status

The game is stuck at the Requesting Login screen or getting an error like 'Unable to Connect to Server', and you really don't know what to do? I suggest you check the ESO's servers first.

The servers may have congestion or temporary connection issues. So go to The Elder Scrolls Online Server Status website (esoserverstatus.net) and check the status of the game servers. On the website, you can check if EU, NA, and PTS servers are online.

Firewall

If you are experiencing any connection issues while playing The Elder Scrolls Online, make sure that your firewall or antivirus is not blocking connections to game servers. It is possible that you are facing connection issues due to firewall settings. Your antivirus software may be in extreme protection mode. You can try changing the firewall settings and see if it solves your problem.

Internet Connection

If The Elder Scrolls Online still does not load and is stuck eternally at the loading screen, check your network and restart your router. Also, to best access ESO, you should configure your router/modem to open the necessary ports.

TCP / UDP Ports: 24100 - 24131
TCP / UDP Ports: 24500 - 24507
TCP / UDP Ports: 24300 - 24331
TCP Port: 80
TCP Port: 433

DNS & VPN

If you're already using DNS, you can try disabling it or try a different DNS. In some cases, changing DNS solves such connection problems in online games. For help with changing DNS, you can refer to this article (How to Change the DNS).

Also, some players use VPNs to solve their connection problems while logging into the megaservers. Additionally, if you are already using VPN, try logging into the game after disabling your VPN.

Server Region

You may be trying to connect to a server (EU/US) that is far away from your country. So try playing on another server region by changing your location in the game settings menu. This will allow you to play on a different server that's closer to you physically and should help with connection issues.

I hope the tips above have helped you. If you still find yourself stuck at the "Requesting Login" screen and think your internet connection does not cause the problem, you can also look at this guide.
