Do you get "Network Error You must connect to the online service to play online" whenever you try to play online with your friends on Borderlands 3? I have a solution for you.

How to Fix " You must connect to the online service to play online" Error
Method #1
- You should unblock the lsass.exe in your Firewall
- Open the Windows Security
- Go to Firewall & network protection
- Click on Allow an app through the firewall

- Click on the "Change settings" button
- Click the "Allow another app..." button.
- Click on the Browse...
- Select the Lsass.exe application ( Location > C:\Windows\System32\Lsass.exe )
- Add an exception PRIVATE and PUBLIC
- Finally, click the OK.
- Try the game.
If you have a different Antivirus/Antimalware software, you should exclude the lsass.exe through your Antivirus software.
Method #2
Enable UPnP and DMZ features on your modem or router. Make sure entered your computer's IP on DMZ setting.
Method #3
- Exit the Borderlands 3 and Epic Games launcher.
- Simultaneously press the Windows logo and R keys.
- Type ipconfig /flushdns
- Press Enter key.
- Restart the computer.
Additionally, Epic Games servers may be temporarily shut down. So you should wait a bit.
By the way, you can buy new games for really cheap.

Doesn’t work. Tried this, changed DNS, uninstalled and reinstalled game and launcher twice, sync regional time clocks and pc time clock, relaunching game and force quits lost count after 15 tries.
Can you share your PC specs and OS ?

I edited the post. Did you try second and third method?
Took a bit of time to create a DMZ but used another system for it luckily. The flush didn’t work either so still stuck on base one.
Talked to my ISP after 2K directed me to do so; after checking out my pingpath etc with my ISP with the instruction of 2K. It’s most likely due to 2K multiplayer server overloads? Their downs are at a high 87% no server connection. As it is they can’t speak of their current issues (2K) of their improper services. Then pawn it off to another cause. That or my ISP is having issues they can’t say either.
It’s sad. Have you got a chance to try with a different modem/router?
Nope sadly not, I have an older modem but I’d have to buy another router. So I’ma hold off and see if next patch or upcoming days they’ll fix it. Else I’ll invest in another router and see the results. But in all in truth thank-you for the fast response and effort.
