Direct Driver Downloads

  1. Nvidia Users: Head to the Nvidia Driver Downloads page. You can either automatically detect your GPU or manually select it from the dropdown lists. Once identified, download and install the recommended driver update.
  2. AMD Users: Navigate to AMD's Driver and Support page. Like Nvidia, you can auto-detect your graphics card or manually find it. After locating the right driver, download and run the installer.
  3. Intel Users: Visit Intel's Download Center for graphics drivers. Utilize their automatic detection tool or search for your specific graphics chipset. Once found, download and initiate the driver update.

Updating via Device Manager (Alternative Method)

  1. Access Device Manager: Press Windows + X on your keyboard and select Device Manager from the menu.
  2. Locate Display Adapters: In the Device Manager, expand the Display adapters section. This will reveal your installed graphics card.
  3. Update Driver: Right-click on your graphics card name (it could be Nvidia, AMD, or Intel followed by the model). Select Update driver.
  4. You'll be presented with two options:
    • Search automatically for updated driver software: This will make Windows search for the latest driver online. If found, it will be downloaded and installed automatically.
    • Browse my computer for driver software: Use this if you've already downloaded the driver and just need to install it.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts and complete the driver update.
  6. Once done, it's always a good practice to restart your computer for the changes to take full effect.

It's not uncommon for games, especially intricate ones like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, to rely on software frameworks like Visual C++ Redistributables. If these components are missing or outdated, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre players might face unexpected crashes, or the game might simply refuse to launch.

Microsoft's Visual Studio suite offers a comprehensive pack of redistributables that cater to multiple versions. For an unhindered gameplay experience, ensure you have the latest Visual C++ Redistributables for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 installed.

Here's how to get it done:

  3. Once both packages are downloaded, initiate the installation by double-clicking each setup file. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
  4. While not always necessary, it's a good practice to restart your PC post installation. This ensures all the new components are correctly integrated into your system.

4. Close Background Applications

Certain background applications can play the villain, causing the game to crash. Therefore:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Under the Processes tab, look for applications that might be hogging memory or clashing with the game.

      • What if I don't have MSI A and RTSS? I have AMD Software Adrenaline but I don't use it, don't adjust any graphics using this preinstalled software. My pc is bad:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega Graphics (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
        Memory: 16384MB RAM
        Available OS Memory: 14278MB RAM
but I have about 40 fps in the game so I can play all right with low settings, I can play about 20 minutes then it crashes

        • Given your PC specifications, it's possible that your GPU might be struggling to maintain consistent performance after a certain duration, leading to crashes.

While you've mentioned not using AMD Software Adrenaline, it's always a good practice to ensure you're running the latest and most compatible drivers for your hardware. I recommend using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove your current graphics drivers. Once done, download and install the latest GPU drivers for your system.

Please make sure to follow safe procedures when using DDU, such as booting into safe mode. After updating, test the game again and see if the crashes persist. It might just give your system the boost it needs to run the game more smoothly.

          Hope this helps.
