Can I run AOE 4 on Windows 7?

Windows 7 users complain that they cannot run Age of Empires IV. They are looking for a way to fix this. Unfortunately, it is also clearly stated in the system requirements, you can only play the game on Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC. So you cannot play Age of Empires 4 on Windows 7.

You can find your saved game files for Age of Empires 4 in the following folder:

Where is the graphics settings configuration file stored?

Your graphics settings configuration file of Age of Empires 4 is located here:

How to fix Error Code: C00T01R-1X-15 52656C6903A8

Some players have reported that they receive the error "C00T01R-1X-15 52656C6903A8" when trying to connect to Age of Empires IV servers. This error is caused by your antivirus software (ESET, Kaspersky, Norton, BitDefender, etc) blocking the game. So you should temporarily disable it.

How do I know if my CPU supports AVX

As stated in the system requirements, AOE 4 requires an AVX supported processor. But how can we check this?

On the official page of your CPU, you should check "Instruction Set Extensions" for Intel, "Supported Technologies" for AMD.

How do you display the timer

In Age of Empires 4 there is a timer that shows the game time, so how can I enable it?

You can display the game time by pressing F11 (default).
