In the in-game settings, there is no way to change the language of Legends of Runeterra. It is possible to change the language by making a few changes in the files of the game. In this guide, I'll show you the steps to change the language in Legends of Runeterra.
For example, if the default game language is English and you want to change it to German:
- Go to the folder where Legends of Runeterra is installed. Navigate to C:\Riot Games\LoR\live\PatcherData\PatchableFiles\GamePlayData
- Right-click on the LocalizedText_en_us.bin file in the GamePlayData folder.
- Click the Cut
- Paste it (CTRL+V) to the desktop or a different folder. Just in case, keep it as a backup.
- Now go back to GamePlayData folder. In GamePlayData folder, change the name of LocalizedText_de_de to LocalizedText_en_us
In short, we replaced the English language file with the German language file. So the language became German in the game.
